Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician
Salary: £28 - £33k DOE
Location: Sunbury on Thames
Job Type: Contract | Full-Time
Are you a hands-on engineer with an eye for detail and a passion for precision assembly? We're looking for an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join a skilled manufacturing team, where you'll play a key role in building, testing, repairing and upgrading high-quality electro-mechanical assemblies.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with their hands, interpreting technical drawings and solving problems in a practical, engineering-focused environment.
The Role
As an Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician, you'll be responsible for assembling and testing components to exacting technical specifications, ensuring products meet quality standards and perform as intended.
You'll work across a range of electro-mechanical assemblies, including fan/motor and heater-related components, while using precision hand tools and inspection equipment.
Key Responsibilities
* Build electro-mechanical assemblies using technical drawings, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing instructions.
* Assemble and work on fan/motor and heater components in line with specifications.
* Use hand tools and precision measuring equipment, including torque drivers, micrometers and verniers.
* Carry out mechanical assembly processes such as drilling, tapping, reaming, countersinking, filing, lapping, buffing and lubrication.
* Connect cables and wires accurately to technical specifications.
* Inspect and test finished products to identify faults and ensure quality.
* Troubleshoot, repair and upgrade electro-mechanical assemblies.
* Maintain equipment used in the electronic assembly process.
* Complete manufacturing documentation accurately and ensure procedures are followed.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and 5S activities.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and support other departments when required.
* Communicate professionally with customers, suppliers and visitors.
* Follow all health and safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.

* Ability to read and understand technical drawings, SOPs and manufacturing instructions.

* Good time management and the ability to meet production deadlines.
* Basic IT skills.
* Ability to read, write and understand English.
Desirable Experience:
* Previous experience in electro-mechanical assembly.
* Familiarity with mechanical and electrical components.
* Experience using small hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
* Soldering experience, particularly with small components.
* Experience assembling small or intricate components, such as model kits or similar precision work.
