Workshop Technician / Mechanical Engineer Location: Burnley Salary: £36,000 Hours: Full-time If you’d rather be building, fixing and improving machinery than staring at the same production line every day, this one is worth a look. We’re looking for an experienced Workshop Technician / Mechanical Engineer to join a specialist engineering team in Burnley, building and maintaining highly automated equipment used within the pipeline and coatings industry. This is proper hands-on engineering. You’ll be involved in: * Mechanical fitting and complete machine builds * Hydraulics and pneumatics * Fault finding and refurbishment * Hydraulic pipework installation * Testing and commissioning * Design upgrades and engineering improvements * Fabrication and welding * Preventative maintenance * Reading technical drawings and specifications * General machining and component modification You may occasionally support installation or refurbishment work at other UK or overseas locations. What We’re Looking For Ideally, you’ll bring: * Around 5 years’ mechanical engineering experience * Strong fitting and machine-build experience * Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge * Fabrication and welding experience * Fault diagnosis and maintenance experience * General machining skills * Ability to read engineering drawings * Basic electrical understanding * Experience working alongside Design Engineers You’ll need to be practical, mechanically minded, safety-conscious and happy working independently or as part of a wider engineering team.
