Job Description
Contract Manager – Highways Drainage Location: Glastonbury Salary: Circa £50,000 + Company Vehicle or Car Allowance + Benefits Our client, a fast-growing drainage contractor, is seeking an experienced, proactive, and driven Contract Manager in Somerset. In this pivotal role, you will manage and resource a wide range of operational drainage activities, including gully emptying, reactive jetting, root cutting, CCTV surveys, and traffic management. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated drainage / highways professional to lead a key contract and drive operational success. The Role: * Overall responsibility for contract delivery, health & safety, and monthly P&L * Lead a small, agile depot team in a flexible and innovative environment * Coordinate and plan on-site resources, ensuring safe working practices at all times * Manage contract performance, standards, and targets * Line management a team of circa 40 drainage personnels, handling any performance issues * Build and maintain strong client relationships * Develop, monitor, and manage the works programme and schedule of rates * Oversee cost control, monthly applications, and contract pricing * Conduct regular site audits with a focus on safety and quality About You: * Proven experience as a Contract Manager or similar within the drainage, highways or utilities industry * Full UK Driving Licence * Skilled in managing safe working practices * CSCS card holder & health and safety qualification (SMSTS or IOSH Managing Safely) * Excellent team leadership, planning, and client-facing skills Benefits: * Circa £50,000 per year * Christmas bonus * Company vehicle or car allowance * 28 days holiday (increasing with service) Ready to make an impact as a Contract Manager in drainage and highways?
