Senior Residential Support Worker
St Albans, Hertfordshire
£16.25–£16.85 per hour
£32,955–£34,171 basic + sleep-ins
£62.64 per sleep-in | 4–8 per month
Potential earnings: £35,955–£40,171
Full-time, Permanent | Long days & sleep-ins
We are recruiting an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a 4-bed Ofsted-rated Good children’s home providing therapeutic, child-centred care.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will:
* Build positive relationships with children and young people.
* Provide daily care, routines, activities and emotional support.
* Lead shifts and support other Residential Support Workers.
* Support young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
* Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour plans.
* Maintain accurate records and incident reports.
* Promote safeguarding and child protection.
* Work with managers, social workers and other professionals.
* Help maintain a safe, consistent and nurturing home.
About You
* 12+ months’ experience working with children and young people.
* Level 3 Residential Childcare / Caring for Children & Young People qualification.
* Experience with therapeutic and child-centred approaches.
* Confident supporting emotional and behavioural difficulties.
* Able to lead and support a residential care team.
* Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
* Flexible for long days, weekends and sleep-ins.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Existing Right to Work in the UK — sponsorship unavailable.
