SITE MANAGER – FIT-OUT & REFURBISHMENT Location: Kilmarnock Sector: Commercial / Banking Fit-Out & Refurbishment Employment: FREELANCE Duration: 12+weeks The Role An established UK construction and fit-out contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager to oversee the delivery of a commercial refurbishment project in Kilmarnock. The project forms part of an ongoing programme of high-street banking refurbishment and fit-out works, requiring a Site Manager with strong experience of delivering fast-paced commercial interiors and refurbishment projects to demanding programmes and quality standards. The successful candidate will take day-to-day responsibility for the site, coordinating subcontractors and specialist trades while ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently and to programme. Key Responsibilities * Take full day-to-day responsibility for the management of the site. * Manage and coordinate subcontractors, specialist trades, suppliers and site activities. * Deliver works in accordance with the agreed construction programme. * Ensure works comply with drawings, specifications and client quality standards. * Coordinate strip-out, refurbishment, internal finishes and fit-out packages. * Manage site logistics, deliveries and access. * Maintain high standards of health & safety throughout the project. * Carry out inductions, toolbox talks and site briefings. * Maintain accurate site records, diaries and progress reports. * Monitor subcontractor performance and quality of workmanship. * Liaise with the Project Manager, client representatives, consultants and wider project team. * Identify potential programme issues and implement practical solutions. * Manage snagging, defects and close-out through to successful handover. * Maintain a professional site environment, particularly where works interface with operational or public-facing areas. Candidate Requirements * Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry. * Strong background in commercial fit-out and refurbishment. * Previous experience delivering retail, banking, office or other fast-track commercial interiors projects would be highly advantageous. * Experience managing multiple subcontractors and specialist trades. * Strong understanding of fit-out sequencing and finishing trades. * Excellent organisational and programme-management skills. * Strong client-facing and communication skills. * Good knowledge of construction health & safety requirements. * Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. * SMSTS. * CSCS. * First Aid certification.
