Job Description
Class 1 HGV Driver – General Haulage / Curtain Sider
We are currently recruiting experienced Class 1 HGV Drivers for ongoing general haulage work.
The role will involve driving curtain-side vehicles, completing deliveries and collections to a range of customers across the UK. This is a varied driving role suited to professional drivers who are confident with general haulage and securing loads correctly.
Duties will include:

Driving Class 1 / C+E vehicles
*
General haulage deliveries and collections
*
Operating curtain-side trailers
*
Opening and closing curtains safely
*
Securing loads using straps, ratchets and appropriate restraints
*
Completing vehicle checks and reporting any defects
*
Completing delivery paperwork accurately
*
Maintaining regular communication with the transport team
*
Providing a professional service when dealing with customers
*
Complying with drivers’ hours, Working Time Directive and road transport regulations
Requirements:
*
Full UK Class 1 / Category C+E licence
*
Valid CPC
*
Valid Digital Tachograph Card
*
Previous Class 1 driving experience preferred
*
Curtain-side / general haulage experience desirable
*
Good knowledge of load security
*
Reliable, professional and punctual
*
Good communication skills
