Job Description
Role: Warehouse Manager Location: Poling, West Sussex Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 DOE + Performance Bonus Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time) Are you an operational leader who thrives in high-consequence, time-critical environments? Our client is seeking a strategic, proactive Warehouse Manager to drive operational excellence, elevate team performance, and safeguard customer service promises across all dispatch streams. Key Responsibilities: * Strategic Operational Leadership: Lead, develop, and empower managers and team leaders to own daily outcomes and drive continuous process improvements. * On-Time Dispatch Excellence: Protect OTIF delivery targets across daily standard orders, urgent time-critical orders, and international shipments. * Proactive Resource Planning: Review daily sales orders early to adjust staffing dynamically and prevent dispatch slippage before it occurs. * Inventory & ERP Management: Leverage Microsoft Business Central (ERP) data to optimize layout, resourcing, and stock control toward a 98% inventory accuracy target. * Quality Assurance Culture: Embed robust incoming goods and pre-dispatch QC inspections to eliminate defects and protect brand reputation. * Continuous Improvement (LEAN): Apply root-cause analysis to inventory and quality variance to boost gross margin by 1% and reduce repeat issues. * Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Provide daily morning updates to Customer Care on dispatch progress to support transparent customer communication. * Safety & Compliance Ownership: Enforce H&S risk assessments, COSHH standards, and environmental standards (ISO 14001) across clean, hazard-free operations. * Training & Capability Building: Maintain $\ge 95\%$ completion across operational, H&S, and specialist training to keep the warehouse audit-ready. What We Are Looking For: * Proven Management Track Record: Several years of warehouse experience with clear progression into team leadership and management. * High-Consequence Delivery Experience: Demonstrated success in time-critical dispatch environments where accuracy and timing are critical. * ERP Proficiency: Strong practical experience using an ERP or WMS to manage inventory flow (Microsoft Business Central strongly preferred). * Data-Driven Stock Control: Strong background in stock cycle counts, variance investigation, and root-cause problem solving. * Continuous Improvement Mindset: Practical knowledge of LEAN principles to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, and scale operations smoothly. * Calm & Decisive Leadership: Ability to work effectively under pressure, setting clear standards while supporting team development. * Alignment with High Standards: Accountable, process-oriented, and customer-focused, maintaining operational discipline under pressure.
