Job Description
The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance & Services Manager to join a busy manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance and efficiency of plant machinery and production equipment, combining hands-on electro-mechanical maintenance with proactive fault finding, planned maintenance and engineering improvements. This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced Maintenance Engineer or Maintenance Manager with a strong background in a high-volume manufacturing, production or industrial environment. Key Responsibilities * Carry out both reactive and planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and plant equipment. * Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical faults to minimise production downtime. * Fault-find on PLC-controlled systems, including Siemens and Allen-Bradley. * Diagnose faults involving motor control circuits, VSDs, contactors, sensors and three-phase power systems. * Maintain and repair mechanical systems including gearboxes, chains, belts, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics and hydraulics. * Read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, technical drawings and maintenance manuals. * Identify and implement engineering modifications and improvements to enhance machinery performance, reliability and efficiency. * Work closely with production teams and management to coordinate maintenance activities and planned work. * Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant procedures. The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will have significant hands-on experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial environment, ideally working with continuous-running plant and machinery. You will need strong electrical and mechanical engineering skills, with the ability to diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs. Experience should include: * Electro-mechanical maintenance and fault finding. * PLC-controlled machinery. * Siemens and/or Allen-Bradley systems. * Variable speed drives and motor control systems. * Three-phase electrical systems. * Mechanical power transmission systems. * Pneumatic and hydraulic systems. * Pumps, conveyors and production machinery. * Planned preventative and reactive maintenance. * Engineering improvements and machinery modifications. Qualifications A recognised engineering qualification is required, such as: * HNC/HND in Electrical, Mechanical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering. * City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 apprenticeship. * Equivalent engineering qualification. A valid UK driving licence and IPAF licence would be advantageous
