Location: Colnbrook Hours: Rotating shift pattern — Week 1: 6:30am–2:30pm | Week 2: 2:00pm–10:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. Plus alternate Saturdays, 7:30am–12:00pm. We are currently recruiting for a skilled and motivated HGV Technician to join an established commercial vehicle maintenance team based in Colnbrook. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive team and play a key role in keeping a busy HGV fleet safe, reliable and operational. The Role Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and commercial vehicles. Your responsibilities will include: * Carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles. * Completing warranty work where required. * Preparing and presenting HGVs for annual MOT testing. * Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical faults. * Identifying and accurately reporting vehicle defects. * Completing service documentation and job records in line with company procedures. * Following all health & safety procedures, risk assessments and Safe Operating Procedures. * Maintaining a clean, safe and professional workshop environment. * Supporting and mentoring apprentice technicians. * Providing roadside assistance when required and safe to do so. * Keeping technical knowledge and skills up to date through ongoing training. * Working flexibly to support operational requirements, including occasional cover at other sites. About You The successful candidate will ideally have: * City & Guilds Parts 1, 2 & 3, NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in HGV maintenance. * Alternatively, 10+ years' relevant HGV maintenance experience will be considered. * A valid HGV licence, ideally minimum Class 2. * A valid digital tachograph card and Driver CPC. * Good knowledge of tachograph systems. * Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical systems. * Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic skills. * A strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices. * The ability to complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard. * Good written and verbal communication skills. * The ability to work independently and as part of a team. * A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to take on new challenges. * Flexibility to work the required rotating shift pattern.
