Fire Systems Installation and Commissioning Engineer Location: B CV WV DY Postcodes Salary: £42,000 basic plus overtime, door-to-door travel expenses, company vehicle and benefits A well-established national fire protection specialist is looking for an experienced Fire Systems Installation and Commissioning Engineer to join its engineering team. The company provides turnkey fire detection, alarm and suppression solutions for commercial, industrial and residential clients across the UK. This position offers varied project work, long-term career development and the opportunity to work with a range of leading fire-system technologies. The role You will be responsible for installing, testing and commissioning fire alarm, detection, emergency lighting and associated fire protection systems. You will also provide technical support, complete system handovers and ensure work meets current standards and client requirements. Your responsibilities will include: * Installing fire alarm, detection and emergency lighting systems * Testing, commissioning and fault-finding * Reading technical drawings, specifications and wiring diagrams * Completing commissioning certificates, test records and reports * Diagnosing and resolving technical issues on site * Liaising with clients, site managers and subcontractors * Supporting projects through to successful completion * Providing customers with system operation guidance * Maintaining high health and safety standards Requirements You should have: Experience installing and commissioning fire alarm systems Knowledge of BS 5839, BS 5266 and relevant fire-safety regulations Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills Experience working with different fire alarm panels A sound understanding of electrical systems and site installation Good communication and customer-service skills A full UK driving licence An ECS or CSCS card, FIA training and experience with integrated fire and life-safety systems would be advantageous.
