Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer Tamworth | Permanent | Days Shorterm Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Quality Inspector / CMM Programmer to join a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying complex components into highly regulated industries including aerospace, defence, motorsport and advanced engineering. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional with strong inspection experience and CMM programming capability to join a growing business that invests heavily in quality, technology and its people. The Role: Working within the Quality department, you will be responsible for carrying out first-off, in-process and final inspections on precision-manufactured components, ensuring all products meet customer and industry requirements. The successful candidate will be a hands-on quality professional who can confidently interpret engineering drawings, program and operate CMM equipment, and support manufacturing teams with technical inspection expertise. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct first-off, in-process and final inspections of precision-engineered components - Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) - Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications - Produce and support First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) - Use a variety of inspection and metrology equipment including:Micrometers, Surface testers, Contour tracers, Gear measurement equipment - Maintain accurate quality documentation and inspection records - Work closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve quality issues - Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO9001 and ISO17025 standards - Support continuous improvement activities within the quality function Candidate Requirements - Previous experience within a precision engineering, aerospace, defence, automotive or advanced manufacturing environment - Proven experience as a Quality Inspector - CMM programming experience is essential - Experience with Aberlink, Mitutoyo, QCT or similar CMM software packages - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T - Strong understanding of measurement techniques and inspection methods - Familiarity with First Article Inspection processes Knowledge of: - AS9100 Rev D - ISO9001:2015 - ISO17025:2017 - Good IT skills including Microsoft Office - Personal Attributes - Excellent attention to detail - Positive and proactive attitude - Strong communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Organised and methodical approach - Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment What's on Offer - Permanent day shift position - Monday to Thursday: 08:00 - 17:00, Friday: 08:00 - 14:30 - Overtime opportunities available - Company pension scheme - Health cash plan - Employee Assistance Programme - Increased holiday entitlement with length of service - Regular social events and company activities If you're an experienced Quality Inspector with CMM programming experience looking for your next opportunity within a high-precision manufacturing environment, we'd be keen to hear from you
