Data Centre Shift Technician Location: Basingstoke Salary: £52,000 Shift Pattern: Continental Shifts Job Type: Permanent A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Data Centre Shift Technician to join a highly regarded facilities management provider, working on behalf of a major global financial organisation at a critical data centre facility in Basingstoke. This is a hands-on engineering role woring across a wide range of critical mechanical and electrical plant, ideal for an engineer who enjoys fualt-finding, technical problem-solving and working within a high-performing shift team. The Role * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across critical data centre infrastructure. * Monitor, operate and maintain mechanical and electrical plant. * Respond to alarms, faults and equipment failures, ensuring issues are investigated and resolved efficiently. * Work across systems including UPS, generators, electrical distribution, switchgear, cooling systems, AHUs, pumps, CRAC/CRAH units and BMS. * Complete PPM tasks and ensure maintenance standards are consistently achieved. * Carry out first-line fault-finding across M&E systems. * Support safe isolations, permit-to-work procedures and contractor activities. * Monitor plant performance and identify developing faults before they impact operations. * Complete accurate shift handovers, engineering reports and CAFM updates. * Support emergency response and escalation procedures within the critical environment. What We're Looking For * Level 3 Electrical qualification or equivalent. * Hands-on experience within a technically demanding environment. * Experience within data centres or critical facilities would be highly advantageous. * Experience with critical plant such as UPS, generators, HVAC, cooling, switchgear or BMS would be beneficial.
