Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager (Roofing) Location: Central London Office (with site visits across Greater London) Salary: £75,000 – £90,000 + Comprehensive Benefits Package (Dependant on Experience) Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent About the Role We are seeking a commercially astute and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of high-value roofing and cladding packages across London. In this dual-capability role, you will take full ownership of the commercial lifecycle—from pre-construction procurement and robust contract negotiation through to final accounts. As a senior member of the team, you will protect business margins, mitigate contractual risk, and play a strategic role in expanding our footprint in the London commercial market. Key Responsibilities * Financial Management: Oversee all project costs, prepare accurate monthly CVRs (Cost Value Reconciliations), manage cash flow forecasting, and optimize project profitability. * Contract Administration: Manage JCT and NEC subcontracts, ensuring strict compliance, managing variations, and mitigating commercial risks. * Procurement & Tendering: Lead the procurement of sub-contractors and materials, analyzing commercial bids to secure competitive terms. * Client & Stakeholder Relations: Act as the primary commercial point of contact for main contractors and clients, leading negotiations for final accounts, variations, and valuations. * Team Leadership: Mentor and support assistant/junior quantity surveyors, fostering a high-performance commercial culture. Requirements & Qualifications * Industry Experience: A proven track record as a Quantity Surveyor or Commercial Manager specifically within the roofing, cladding, building envelope, or specialist sub-contracting sectors. * Project Delivery: Demonstrated success managing packages ranging from £500k to £5m+. * Contractual Knowledge: Deep expertise in JCT and NEC contract suites, with strong dispute resolution and negotiation skills. * Qualifications: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline is highly desirable (RICS accreditation is a plus). * Location: Based within commutable distance of Central London and willing to visit live project sites across the city.
