Teacher of English – QTS Required
Teaching Personnel Cardiff are currently seeking a qualified Teacher of English with QTS to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in the Vale of Glamorgan. The position is available to start ASAP and is an excellent opportunity for an experienced English teacher or NQT/ECT looking to secure a teaching role for the new academic year.
The successful candidate will join a supportive school environment and teach English across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping pupils develop their literacy, communication and analytical skills in line with the Curriculum for Wales.
The Role
As a Teacher of English, you will be responsible for:
Planning and delivering engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4
Teaching English Language and Literature
Preparing pupils for GCSE examinations
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of learners of varying abilities
Managing classroom behaviour effectively
Assessing and monitoring pupil progress
Working collaboratively with the English department and wider school team
Contributing to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Following the school's curriculum and safeguarding policies
Requirements
To be considered for this English Teacher position, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) – mandatory
Experience teaching English within a secondary school environment
Strong classroom management and communication skills
A commitment to supporting pupil progress and achievement
The ability to plan and deliver engaging lessons
A current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable
NQTs/ECTs are encouraged to apply. Teaching Personnel can provide guidance and support throughout the registration process for teachers who are new to agency work.
