Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced NEC Project Manager to support the delivery of major rail and civil engineering infrastructure projects. This contract opportunity is suited to a commercially aware project management professional with rail civils experience, NEC4 contract expertise and a strong understanding of live operational environments. The role is based 3 days per week in Southern Ireland.
Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the principal day-to-day interface between the project team, Contractor and Client
Administering NEC4 ECC contracts, including target cost arrangements under Option C
Managing construction-stage delivery across multidisciplinary civil engineering and rail projects
Reviewing and challenging Contractor submissions, programmes, assumptions, compensation events and claims where required
Overseeing project governance, programme management, project controls and commercial risk management
Managing Contractor interfaces within safety-critical, access-constrained and stakeholder-sensitive environments
Monitoring safety management arrangements, incident reporting and compliance with project requirements
Maintaining accurate records and providing clear progress reports to key stakeholders
Job Requirements:
Significant experience in project management, contract administration or construction-stage delivery of major infrastructure projects
NEC4 ECC Project Manager accreditation and demonstrable experience administering NEC ECC contracts
Experience with NEC4 ECC Option C target cost contracts
Experience delivering Design and Build construction contracts and multidisciplinary civil engineering projects
Background in rail, marine, port, transport or live operational infrastructure environments
Rail project experience and a strong understanding of project management and civil engineering principles
Degree in engineering, construction management, project management, quantity surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience
Membership of a relevant professional body is preferred

Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, reporting and stakeholder management skills
Ability to challenge Contractor submissions, programmes, assumptions and claims effectively
Understanding of construction-stage governance, safety management and commercial risk
Familiarity with BIM, digital collaboration platforms and common data environments
Awareness of sustainable practices within infrastructure and construction projects
