Job Description
Housing Surveyor £40,000 12-month fixed term 37 hours per week Hybrid Are you an experienced Surveyor looking for a role where your technical expertise can genuinely improve people’s homes and communities? Hoop Housing is recruiting on behalf of an established social housing provider for a Surveyor with experience in damp, mould and condensation. You’ll play a key role in ensuring homes are safe, compliant, accessible and fit for the future, while helping deliver high-quality services for residents. What you’ll be doing * Carrying out property inspections, condition and energy surveys * Diagnosing building defects and specifying appropriate remedial works * Managing housing hazards, disrepair and Damp, Mould & Condensation cases * Supporting property adaptations to help residents remain safe and independent * Managing refurbishment, remodelling and other building projects * Preparing specifications, tenders and contract documentation * Managing contractors, consultants, costs, quality and programmes * Providing expert technical advice on building and surveying matters * Working closely with residents, stakeholders and contractors * Supporting investment, asset management and decarbonisation programmes What we’re looking for We’re looking for a confident, technically strong Surveyor who can combine professional judgement with excellent customer service. You’ll ideally bring: * Significant experience in a similar surveying/property role * Strong knowledge of building construction * Experience of tendering and contract administration * Experience managing building works, budgets and risk * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Experience working with tenants/residents * Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work towards it) Experience within social housing would be highly advantageous.
