Job Description
SEN Teaching Assistant Hours: Monday – Friday, Full-Time, Term-Time Only Location: Pinner Start Date: ASAP UES1 About the Role We are looking for a caring and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in Pinner, supporting pupils with SEN and additional medical needs. The role will involve providing tailored learning and pastoral support while helping pupils manage their individual needs safely and confidently throughout the school day. This would suit someone with experience supporting children or young people with complex needs who is calm, patient and confident following care and support plans. Key Responsibilities * Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN * Support pupils with medical needs in line with individual care plans * Assist with learning, communication and daily routines * Promote independence, confidence and emotional wellbeing * Support positive behaviour and emotional regulation * Assist with personal care where required * Monitor and report changes in pupils' wellbeing or needs * Work closely with teachers, healthcare staff and the wider SEN team * Follow safeguarding, health and safety and medical procedures What We’re Looking For Essential: * Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN * Experience supporting pupils with medical or complex needs * Caring, patient and responsible approach * Confident following individual care or support plans * Strong communication and teamwork skills * Enhanced DBS on the Update Service * Right to Work in the UK Desirable: * Experience within a specialist SEN or medical needs setting * Personal care experience * Experience supporting physical disabilities or complex health needs * First Aid, medical or relevant care training
