Job Description
Talent-UK are recruiting on behalf of their client for a full time Temporary Workshop Operative working with Steel - This role is offered on a Temp basis initially with the opportunity potentially of a permanent role depending on company orders - Full time 8 hours per day = 7.30am - 4pm ( flexible)
Key Responsibilities
Material Preparation: Measure, mark out, cut, and punch steel sections using saws, drills, and shears.
Good with measurements
Component Finishing: Grind, trim, and polish/spray fabricated steel components using angle grinders and air tools.
Assisting Production: Move heavy steel parts around the shop floor using overhead cranes, slings, or forklifts.
Workshop Upkeep: Keep the work area clean, tidy, and organized to maintain safety standards.
Safety Compliance: Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all company health and safety rules Requirements and Skills
Experience: Previous work in a metal fabrication, engineering, or manufacturing workshop - Desirable
Basic Welding skills - Desirable
Confident with heavy lifting and manual handling and standing for long shifts
Switched on - willing to learn
Able to work in a busy environment
Tool Knowledge: Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.
Team Player: Willingness to help other fabricators and pitch in with general labour tasks
