Multi‑Skilled Engineer Wythenshawe, Manchester £55,963 per annum Monday to Friday rotating shift pattern Days 6am – 2pm Nights 10pm – 6am Twilights 2pm – 10pm Benefits  28 days holiday including bank holidays, increasing with service Additional day off for your birthday Health cash plan (Medicash) after 3 months Enhanced maternity, paternity, adoption and shared parental leave pay Employee Assistance Programme Company pension scheme (employer 4%, employee 5%) Company‑paid events throughout the year Free parking close to major travel networks Key Responsibilities  Work closely with production teams to minimise machinery downtime and ensure all preventative maintenance is completed ahead of schedule Carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and predictive maintenance activities Respond effectively to breakdowns to keep downtime to a minimum Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults across manufacturing and packing equipment Ensure all repairs are completed safely, effectively and to a high standard Escalate recurring issues and support permanent corrective actions Support the site’s journey towards World Class Engineering standards Challenge recurring failures and breakdown trends by identifying true root causes Deliver permanent corrective actions and engineering improvements instead of temporary fixes Promote the philosophy of “fix it once, fix it right” Contribute ideas that improve equipment reliability, maintainability and performance Participate in reliability improvement projects and engineering best practice initiatives Support development of engineering standards, procedures and asset care programmes Identify opportunities to improve equipment efficiency and productivity Participate in root cause analysis investigations using structured problem‑solving methodologies Work collaboratively with Production, Technical and CI teams to deliver sustainable solutions Ensure repairs protect product quality and food safety Support audit requirements and compliance standards including BRC and customer requirements Provide technical guidance and support to operators where appropriate Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity of work Liaise with contractors and suppliers when required Education and Experience Essential  Recognised Engineering qualification (Electrical, Mechanical or Multi‑Skilled) Previous FMCG experience Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic capability Experience with both mechanical and electrical maintenance Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation Strong understanding of preventative maintenance principles Keywords  Multi Skilled Engineer, Maintenance Engineer, Electrical and Mechanical, PLC, Automation, PPM, Reactive Maintenance, CMMS, Fault Finding, Root Cause Analysis, Lean, OEE, 5S, TPM, Manufacturing, Food Manufacturing, Engineering Technician, Shift Engineer, Preventative Maintenance, Continuous Improvement, Machinery Repairs, Engineering Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3, HNC, Engineering Compliance, Safety, HSE, Engineering Support, Engineering Projects, Wythenshawe, Manchester Please contact Ryan Taylor on (phone number removed) at Winsearch for more information.
