Job Description
SITE SUPERVISOR - CONSTRUCTION / WATER & WASTEWATER Salary: Up to £65,000 + Package Professional Profile Experienced and motivated Site Supervisor with a strong background in construction and utilities, particularly within water and wastewater environments. Proven ability to oversee day-to-day site operations, coordinate site teams and subcontractors, and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards. Confident providing hands-on leadership across busy construction sites, with responsibility for labour, plant, materials, site documentation, health and safety, quality control and productivity. Strong communicator who works effectively with Site Agents, Project Managers, subcontractors, clients and other stakeholders to resolve issues and maintain project progress. Key Responsibilities Supervise the day-to-day running of construction sites, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme requirements. Lead and coordinate site teams, subcontractors and operatives to maintain productivity and high standards of workmanship. Manage labour, plant, materials and site resources effectively. Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved designs, specifications, method statements and relevant regulations. Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, environmental and quality requirements. Monitor site progress and identify potential delays, risks and operational issues. Work closely with Site Agents, Project Managers, engineers and other stakeholders to coordinate activities and resolve problems. Maintain accurate site records, reports, inspections and daily documentation. Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure works are completed to specification. Support planning and programming of works to ensure projects remain on schedule. Promote a positive safety culture and ensure site teams comply with company procedures and statutory requirements. Coordinate deliveries, plant movements and materials to support efficient site operations. Use digital site management and reporting systems to record progress, inspections and relevant site information. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, efficiency and working practices. Ensure construction activities are delivered to the required quality standards and within agreed budgets. Relevant Experience Experience supervising construction sites within water and wastewater utilities. Proven experience managing site teams and subcontractors in demanding construction environments. Strong understanding of construction processes, site operations and utility infrastructure. Experience working to programmes and project deadlines. Practical understanding of health, safety, quality and environmental requirements. Experience resolving site-based problems and coordinating multiple activities simultaneously. Comfortable working across sites throughout Kent, Sussex and Hampshire. Able to work effectively with project management, engineering, commercial and operational teams.
