Job Description
Qualified 1:1 Maths & English SEN Tutor - Hampton Location: Hampton, TW12 Hours: 15 hours per week Schedule: Monday to Friday, 3 hours per day Subjects: Maths & English Age Group: Post-16 / Young Person We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced 1:1 Maths & English Tutor to provide personalised tuition to a young person in the Hampton area. Applicants must be qualified tutors with previous 1:1 tutoring experience and demonstrable SEN experience. Experience supporting young people with Autism and ADHD is highly desirable. The student is currently awaiting an appropriate further education placement and requires temporary educational support in the meantime. The role will involve helping them re-engage with learning, establish their current working levels and identify any gaps in their knowledge. The student has Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyspraxia, Articulatory Dyspraxia, and severe expressive and receptive language difficulties. They also have significant speech and communication needs, which can sometimes make it difficult for them to express themselves clearly. The successful tutor will need to be patient, adaptable and confident working with complex SEN needs, with the ability to adapt teaching and communication to suit the individual. The role will involve: Delivering engaging 1:1 Maths and English tuition Supporting the student to re-engage with education Completing a relaxed baseline/skills assessment to establish current working levels Identifying gaps in knowledge and creating an appropriate learning programme Adapting lessons around the student's communication, attention and learning needs Building a positive and trusting relationship with the student Using a calm, patient and encouraging approach Providing feedback on progress and engagement Requirements: Qualified Tutor - PGCE / QTS Previous 1:1 tutoring experience Previous SEN experience is essential Experience supporting students with Autism and ADHD Understanding of speech, language and communication needs Ability to adapt teaching methods and resources Patient, calm and encouraging approach Strong Maths and English knowledge Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one If this is soemthing you are interested in please Apply now or reach out to Daisy on (phone number removed)
