Job Description
HRGO Recruitment is working with a well-established food manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Technical Assurance Manager. This is a key site-based leadership role, responsible for protecting product quality, food safety, legality and integrity, while driving continuous improvement and maintaining audit readiness.
Reporting into the Site Technical Manager, you will lead the QA and Hygiene teams and ensure robust systems are in place to meet customer expectations and business objectives.
Working Hours
40 hours per week
Monday - Friday (hours to be agreed)
Flexibility required to support business needs and team coverage
Key Responsibilities
Ensure food safety, legality, quality and integrity through effective technical policies, procedures and controls
Support and maintain audit readiness and site compliance for BRCGS and customer audits
Develop and implement robust traceability systems to ensure full product traceability and regulatory compliance
Lead pest control strategies across the site to protect product integrity and hygiene standards
Oversee product testing and environmental monitoring to reduce contamination risk
Investigate customer complaints, complete root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions
Deliver training on food safety, hygiene and quality standards to site teams
Proactively monitor site trends and risks, driving improvements
Manage the site non-conformance system, ensuring issues are logged, investigated and closed effectively
Coordinate internal audits to meet BRCGS and customer requirements, ensuring actions are completed
Lead and develop the QA and Hygiene teams to deliver daily standards, checks and monitoring
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with site health & safety, food safety and quality assurance standards
Report hazards, incidents and near misses to the Production Manager or Shift Supervisor
Support implementation of safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment
Attend and participate in H&S briefings and training as required
Requirements
Essential:
Strong understanding of food safety, legality, compliance and quality standards in food manufacturing
Previous experience in a technical/quality role within a food manufacturing environment
HACCP Level 3 (or higher)
Food Safety & Hygiene Level 3 (or higher)
Knowledge of food safety systems (HACCP, VACCP, TACCP)
Excellent communication skills with a practical, solutions-focused approach
Leadership and team development capability
Desirable:
SAP knowledge/experience
