Year 2 Class Teacher - Borehamwood, Hertfordshire
Immediate Start | Full-Time | £35,602-£52,488 (London Fringe MPS-UPS)
Tradewind Recruitment is working with a well-regarded primary school in Borehamwood that is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Year 2 Class Teacher for an immediate start.
This is an excellent opportunity for a teacher looking to join a supportive, inclusive school where high expectations, positive relationships and pupil wellbeing are central to school life. The school is a one-form entry primary, with two classes in Year 5, and has continued to achieve strong outcomes following a positive Ofsted inspection.
A Nurturing and Therapeutic Approach
The school places a strong emphasis on nurture, inclusion and understanding the individual needs of its pupils. Staff are encouraged to take a caring and therapeutic approach, particularly when supporting vulnerable children, with positive relationships and emotional wellbeing forming an important part of the school's wider approach.
The successful teacher will therefore need to combine strong classroom practice with patience, empathy and an understanding of how emotional wellbeing can influence learning and behaviour.
The Role
Full-time Year 2 teaching position starting immediately
Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons suited to the needs of the class
Assess and monitor pupil progress, adapting teaching where required
Establish a positive, well-managed and nurturing classroom environment
Build strong relationships with pupils and support their social and emotional development
Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and other professionals
Contribute fully to the wider life of the schoolThe Ideal Candidate
QTS and the required teaching qualifications
Primary teaching experience, ideally including KS1/Year 2
Strong knowledge of the KS1 curriculum and effective assessment
Confident behaviour management and classroom organisation
Able to adapt teaching to meet different learning needs
Patient, nurturing and committed to inclusive practice
