Job Description
Overview An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Moulder to join a well-established foundry and heavy engineering business in Chesterfield. Working as part of a skilled production team, you will be responsible for producing moulds to specification, preparing materials, and supporting the manufacture of high-quality steel. This role would suit an individual with previous foundry experience or someone with a strong manufacturing background looking to develop a career within a specialist engineering environment. Key Responsibilities * Produce and assemble moulds in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements. * Prepare moulding materials, patterns, cores, and associated equipment. * Carry out moulding operations to ensure they meet quality standards. * Inspect moulds and completed work for defects and report any quality concerns. * Assist with the pouring, shakeout, and finishing processes when required. * Operate foundry equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently. * Work closely with colleagues across production and maintenance teams to achieve daily production targets. * Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area. * Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures at all times. * Support continuous improvement initiatives within the foundry. Skills & Experience Required * Previous experience as a Moulder, Foundry Operative, Production Operative, or within a heavy manufacturing environment. * Knowledge of moulding processes and foundry operations would be advantageous. * Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings. * Experience working with hand tools and industrial equipment. * Good attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work. * Physically fit and comfortable working in a demanding industrial environment. * Strong awareness of health and safety procedures. * Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
