Heavy / Light Goods Vehicle Mechanic Location: Eckington Hours: 37 hours per week Type: Full-time, Permanent Pay: £14.36–£19.47 per hour + tool allowance An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Heavy / Light Goods Vehicle Mechanic to join a busy transport and maintenance team. This is an ideal role for an experienced mechanic or newly qualified technician looking to broaden their experience across a varied fleet of commercial vehicles and operational plant. Key Responsibilities Carry out servicing, maintenance, repairs and inspections on a range of HGVs, LGVs and operational vehicles. Diagnose mechanical faults and ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard. Work across a varied fleet, gaining experience with specialist and operational vehicles. Support vehicle compliance and safety requirements. Undertake ongoing training and development, with opportunities to work towards MOT Tester and Category C / Driver CPC qualifications. About You Vehicle mechanic experience with City & Guilds Part I & II Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent. Minimum Category B driving licence. Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills. Good attention to detail and a commitment to vehicle safety. Able to work independently and as part of a team. A willingness to undertake further training and professional development. Experience working on refuse collection vehicles, street cleansing vehicles or grounds maintenance plant would be advantageous but is not essential.
