SEMH Teaching Assistant – Flexible Bank Staff
Location: Southwark, London
Pay: £100 per day PAYE
Hours: 9:00am–3:30pm
Contract: Temporary | Flexible Staff Bank
Availability: Ideally 2–3 days per week, Monday–Friday
New Chapter Tuition is exclusively building a dedicated bank of temporary staff for a specialist independent SEMH school in Southwark.
We are looking for experienced Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants who can provide flexible cover for staff sickness and absence. This is ideal for someone seeking flexible work around 2–3 days per week without committing to a full-time position.
Working days will vary depending on the school's requirements and are not guaranteed each week.
You will support young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, which may include autism, ADHD, anxiety, trauma and attachment difficulties.
Responsibilities include:

Classroom, small-group and 1:1 support
*
Supporting learning and student engagement
*
Promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
*
Using appropriate de-escalation and trauma-informed approaches
*
Supporting students during lessons, activities and transitions
*
Working alongside teaching and pastoral staff
We're looking for:

Previous experience supporting young people with SEMH
*
TA, LSA, SEN, alternative provision or similar experience
*
Confidence supporting complex behaviours and emotional needs
*
A calm, resilient and relationship-focused approach
*
Reliability and flexibility to provide cover when required
