Legionella Risk Assessor Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 + Company Vehicle + Benefits Location: Yorkshire & Surrounding Areas Contract: Full-Time, Permanent Example Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with an established and growing Water Hygiene and Legionella compliance specialist that is looking to appoint an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor as part of its continued expansion. The position is predominantly focused across Yorkshire and the surrounding areas, with occasional travel to support national clients. You'll work across a varied portfolio of commercial, industrial, healthcare and domestic-type properties, carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments and providing professional Water Hygiene consultancy to clients. The Role As a Legionella Risk Assessor, you'll be responsible for delivering professional Legionella Risk Assessments and Water Hygiene consultancy services across a diverse client portfolio. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out comprehensive Legionella Risk Assessments in accordance with ACOP L8, HSG274 and BS 8580-1 Assessing hot and cold water systems across commercial, healthcare, industrial and domestic-type environments Producing detailed, accurate and professional Legionella Risk Assessment reports Identifying areas of non-compliance and providing clear recommendations for corrective and remedial works Consulting directly with clients regarding Legionella control, Water Hygiene and ongoing compliance requirements Producing accurate schematic drawings of domestic water systems Diagnosing faults and potential issues within plumbing and water systems Recommending appropriate maintenance and remedial works Supporting clients in maintaining appropriate Health & Safety and Water Hygiene standards Delivering practical Legionella control training to small groups on client sites Carrying out associated Water Hygiene consultancy and control visits when required Completing water temperature monitoring, sampling, showerhead descaling and disinfection works where necessary Maintaining accurate records and completing reports electronically using tablet-based systems Managing your own workload and client visits efficiently What We're Looking For We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced Legionella professionals who have a strong understanding of water systems and can confidently work with clients across a variety of environments. Ideally, you'll have: 3+ years' experience within Legionella control / Water Hygiene Practical experience carrying out Legionella Risk Assessments A strong working knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274 Understanding of BS 8580-1 Good knowledge of hot and cold water systems The ability to identify risks, non-compliance and potential remedial requirements Strong report-writing skills Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and tablet-based reporting systems Strong communication and customer-facing skills The ability to work independently and manage a field-based workload A professional and safety-focused approach Qualifications An approved Legionella Risk Assessor qualification such as City & Guilds, BOHS or Water Management Society certification would be highly desirable. However, if you're an experienced Legionella professional with strong practical Risk Assessment experience but don't currently hold the relevant certification, the company may be able to arrange this for the right candidate. You will also require: Full UK driving licence Ability to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance Relevant industry training/qualifications appropriate to the position What's On Offer?
