School Cleaner – Bodmin, Cornwall Location: Bodmin, Cornwall Start Date: As soon as possible, subject to successful completion of relevant vetting checks Hours: Monday to Thursday: 3:00pm – 5:30pm Friday: 3:30pm – 6:00pm Contract: Temporary We are currently recruiting for a reliable and hardworking School Cleaner to join a school in Bodmin, Cornwall. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic environment for pupils and staff and will ideally have previous cleaning experience. School or commercial cleaning experience would be desirable. Key Responsibilities: Cleaning classrooms, offices, communal areas and other designated areas Sweeping, mopping and vacuuming floors Cleaning toilets and washroom facilities Emptying bins and disposing of waste appropriately Cleaning and sanitising surfaces Following health and safety and COSHH procedures Reporting any maintenance or health and safety issues Ensuring cleaning standards are maintained throughout the school The Ideal Candidate: Previous cleaning experience is desirable Reliable, punctual and hardworking Able to work independently and as part of a team Good attention to detail Professional and responsible approach Understanding of the importance of safeguarding within a school environment Vetting Requirements: All candidates will be required to successfully complete our full safeguarding and vetting process before commencing work. Minimum of two satisfactory employer references covering the previous 24 months Three references required if you have not previously worked with children Professional character reference required for any gaps in employment Enhanced DBS on the Update Service preferred; otherwise, candidates must be willing to obtain a new Enhanced DBS Right to work in the UK Two proofs of address Proof of National Insurance number Proof of any name changes, where applicable Overseas police check if you have lived/worked outside of the UK for more than six months Completion of our online mandatory training courses If you are an experienced cleaner and are available to start immediately, subject to the relevant vetting checks, we would love to hear from you
