The Role & About the Client
ITS Building People are currently recruiting for an experienced Heavy Plant/HGV Mechanic to join a well-established company based in Sevenoaks. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and servicing a varied fleet, including HGVs, heavy plant and vans.
The company operates a fleet of approximately 20 HGVs, 30 items of heavy plant and a fleet of vans, providing a varied working environment. Candidates from light vehicle, heavy vehicle or plant backgrounds will be considered.
Key Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
Preparing vehicles and plant for MOTs
Servicing and maintaining HGVs and heavy plant
Attending breakdowns and carrying out repairs
Predominantly depot-based work, with occasional travel to breakdowns across Kent
Working on a variety of heavy machinery including crushers, dozers and 360 excavators
Carrying out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
Ensuring vehicles and machinery are maintained to a safe and operational standard Requirements:
Ideally around 5 years' relevant mechanical experience
Experience working with HGVs, heavy plant or light vehicles
Level 3 qualification desirable but not essential
Ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs
Full UK driving licence desirable
