Secondary Tutor Support Young People to Re-Engage with Education We're looking for a Secondary Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across Poole. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from a tailored approach to learning. Many students have experienced barriers to education and need a tutor who can build confidence, encourage engagement, and help them make positive academic progress. Whether your experience is in core subjects, humanities, sciences, languages, or vocational subjects, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference through one-to-one support. Location: Poole Key Stage: Secondary (KS3 & KS4) Start Date: September Hours: Flexible Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour Type: 1:1 Tuition Requirements Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles QTS or PGCE Highly Desirable Experience supporting secondary-aged learners Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas Ability to deliver engaging and personalised lessons Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable Strong communication and relationship-building skills Patient, adaptable, and positive approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Poole Who You'll Support You'll work with young people who may have: Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs ADHD Anxiety and school avoidance EHCPs and additional educational needsEach learner has unique goals and challenges, making this a varied and rewarding role where you can have a genuine impact.
