About the Role This is a hybrid position, combining office-based work at our client's Greenwich office, remote working, and regular site visits. Projects are primarily UK-based, with occasional overnight stays required. We will only consider candidates already living in the UK. Candidate Profile required Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, Construction, or Architecture (or equivalent relevant experience) 5 years’ UK cladding design experience Proven experience specifically in cladding design (curtain walling-only experience will not be considered) Skills & Requirements Proficient in AutoCAD 2D, PDF software, and Microsoft Office / Outlook (3D AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Bluebeam are advantageous) Strong written and verbal English communication skills Ability to work semi-autonomously from verbal, written, or sketched instructions Good knowledge of: Cladding systems, panels, insulation, fixings, fire barriers, and membranes Fire barrier design and fixing types Fabrication drawings U-values and condensation risk analysis for external walls Ability to produce: Accurate sub-grid and panel layout drawings Technical hand sketches (preferred) Drawings from site photos, surveys, and mapping tools (Google Maps/Earth) Confident working under pressure and managing: 2 projects simultaneously Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused Full right to work in the UK UK-based, within a commutable distance to North Greenwich / M25 Driving licence preferred Portfolio Requirement: Applicants must submit a PDF portfolio of sample cladding drawings. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered. Key Responsibilities Produce cladding construction detail drawings Prepare elevation, plan, fire barrier, and site investigation drawings Panel and sub-grid setting-out drawings Material take-offs and coordination with the Commercial team Conduct site surveys, inspections, and photographic records Attend design and progress meetings with clients, architects, engineers, and Building Control Liaise with suppliers to obtain specifications, confirmations, U-values, and condensation calculations Coordinate with client representative, structural engineers, consultants, and site teams Maintain project documentation, drawing registers, RFIs, and change logs Issue technical submissions and updated drawings to clients Participate in weekly internal design meetings Engage in continuous professional development (CPDs) with suppliers Office & Site Commitment Office attendance: Minimum once per week (travel to office not reimbursed) Site visits: Minimum once per week, workload dependent (expenses reimbursed) Salary & Benefits Salary • Senior Designer: £52000 – £60,000 per annum depending on Experience Benefits • Competitive salary with annual reviews • Company laptop and phone • 20 days’ holiday, plus one additional day per year of service • Paid travel expenses for site visits (mileage, train, parking) • Modern riverside office in North Greenwich, close to shops and restaurants • Mentoring and career development support • Quarterly office social events • Clear progression pathway Immediate start preferred
