Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector Location: Oxfordshire Salary: £21.00 per hour Hours: 37 hours per week Monday to Thursday: 8:00am to 4:30pm Friday: 8:00am to 1:00pm Flexible working available where operationally possible Overtime opportunities available Job Type: Permanent The Opportunity An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Quality Inspector to join a growing precision engineering manufacturer. Working within a high-quality manufacturing environment, you will take ownership of quality control activities from incoming goods inspection through to final inspection, ensuring products consistently meet customer and industry standards. This is a hands-on role that would suit an individual with a strong engineering background, excellent inspection skills, and experience working within an ISO 9001 environment. Key Responsibilities * Inspect and approve incoming materials and subcontract returns. * Carry out in-process inspection and validate first-off measurements. * Maintain, calibrate and control measuring instruments and inspection equipment. * Record and document inspection results using internal quality systems. * Raise, investigate and manage NCRs, implementing corrective and preventative actions. * Produce and present quality KPI reports. * Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters. * Support internal and supplier audits where required. * Assist in maintaining and developing ISO 9001 quality standards. * Promote continuous improvement throughout the business. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: * Previous experience in a Quality Inspector position within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment. * A mechanical engineering background. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. * Experience using a wide range of measuring and inspection equipment. * Experience operating programmable CMM equipment. * Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems. * Experience dealing with NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions. * Excellent communication and organisational skills. * A proactive, continuous improvement mindset.
