Salary: £45,000 – £55,000 DOE

Winsearch are recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to join an established and growing transport business.
This is a key operational management position with responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient running of a specialist HGV transport operation.
We are looking for an experienced Transport Manager with a strong background in road haulage, transport compliance and specialist transport operations.
Experience within ADR/dangerous-goods transport and tanker or liquid-bulk operations is required for this position. This reflects the specialist requirements in the client's brief.
The Role
As Transport Manager, you will take responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the transport operation, working closely with drivers, operational teams, customers and senior management.
Key responsibilities will include:
Managing day-to-day HGV transport operations
Leading and developing drivers and transport personnel
Maintaining Operator Licence and DVSA compliance
Managing drivers’ hours, WTD and tachograph compliance
Overseeing vehicle maintenance, inspections, defects and planned maintenance
Managing ADR/dangerous-goods transport operations
Managing tanker/liquid-bulk transport operations
Ensuring driver licences, qualifications and training remain compliant
Driver induction, coaching, training and competency
SHEQ/HSEQ compliance, including risk assessments, safe systems of work, incident investigation and corrective actions
Supporting environmental compliance and emergency-response procedures
Monitoring fleet utilisation, costs and operational performance
Improving transport efficiency and compliance
Maintaining strong customer and internal stakeholder relationships
Supporting continuous improvement across the operation
What We Are Looking For
Transport Manager CPC – Road Haulage
Demonstrable HGV transport management experience
Strong knowledge of UK Operator Licensing and DVSA requirements
ADR/dangerous-goods transport experience
Tanker or liquid-bulk transport experience
Strong knowledge of drivers’ hours, tachographs and Working Time Regulations
Vehicle maintenance and fleet compliance experience
Experience managing HGV drivers and transport teams
Strong SHEQ/HSEQ and transport Health & Safety knowledge
Confident leadership and decision-making skills
A practical, hands-on approach to transport management
Experience within commercial / hire & reward haulage would be highly advantageous.
DGSA, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO or SQAS experience would also be advantageous.
Candidates currently working as a Transport Manager, Transport Operations Manager, Senior Transport Manager or Fleet/Operations Manager may be suitable, providing they hold the relevant Transport Manager CPC and have the required specialist transport experience.
