Job Description
Central Recruitment is working with a charity dedicated to supporting people experiencing mental distress to work through trauma, build supportive relationships, and explore ways to live fulfilling lives. Our client is currently recruiting a Therapeutic Practitioner to work in the Southall area, supporting clients to begin or progress their recovery journeys and achieve their aspirations and potential. * 32 hours per week (4 days) * Working across Monday - Friday * Shifts: 09:00 - 17:00 * This is a fixed term contract for 1-2 months * £16.95 per hour (including holiday pay) Please note: you will be based across two services in the Southall area. Key responsibilities: * Hold a caseload of key clients and deliver individual key working sessions * Work within a Psychologically Informed Environment model * Co-produce clear and structured recovery, risk management and move-on plans with clients, working with the client both formally and informally towards their recovery goals * Build supportive and therapeutic relationships with clients through dialogue * Administer medication according to the organisations policies and procedures * Facilitate various groups within the community under the supervision of the Service Manager and Community Psychotherapist * Encourage clients in engaging with activities within the service and within the wider community * Take the lead on certain administrative roles as directed by the Service Manager such as Medication Management, Health and Safety and Petty Cash * Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with Care Teams and Families in support of the client's recovery and in line with their wishes * Develop links in the wider community to support clients in engaging in meaningful activities such as leisure, employment or education What we’re looking for: * Experience of working with or lived experience of complex mental health conditions * Experience of working within or lived experience of a recovery orientated approach to supporting adults with complex presentations * Understanding of the recovery approach * Understand the support requirements of people with mental health and other associated conditions. * Ability to establish an effective working relationship with clients which is attachment centred and based on the Recovery approach including the skills for comprehensive assessment and action planning * Ability to respond appropriately and effectively and de-escalate situations when faced with challenging or violent behaviour * Knowledge and understanding of the statutory and voluntary services within mental health * The ability to initiate and maintain constructive and appropriate relations with clients and external agencies Desirable: Certificate in counselling skills or other similar and relevant qualification or experience of engaging in own psychological therapy Further requirements: In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria: * Current valid right to work in the UK * Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise) * A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60) * Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process How to apply: If you feel that you fully meet the above outlined criteria for this role and would like apply for this post, please forward your CV for consideration. *Please note the outlined experience is the 'minimum' first stage criteria, and we will therefore be unable to consider your application unless you are able to demonstrate a relevant work history in line with this position
